His art project, The Homeless Museum of Art (HoMu) 2002, has turned his Brooklyn rental apartment into a live-in museum. Part mockery part sincerity, HoMu is an element in Noterdaeme's activist initiative to overcome the impersonal elitism in the market-driven art world. Noterdaeme states that "HoMu exists in a state of perpetual flux and continues to defy the rules of the established art world."
